Sunday, June 29~Cincy Sleep-over~

Friday afternoon I picked the kids up from Springfield and we drove to Cincinnati to see Aunt Sara, Uncle Matt and Evie.  We ate pizza and then went swimming in the pool at Sara's apartment club house.  We pretty much had it all to ourselves both times we went.  On Saturday we decided to go to the zoo.  The Cincinnati Zoo is the 2nd oldest zoo in America founded in 1875. (the Philadelphia Zoo is the oldest)  I believe it may be the prettiest zoo in the state probably due to the fact that it is also a botanical garden park.  I was also impressed with their new Africa Savannah exhibit that has just opened.  It is amazing what they have done with so little space.  We were treated to seeing the newest baby giraffe and were among the first to see the African painted dogs in their new exhibit.  A favorite of the kids was the Bat-eared fox because their exhibit had a tunnel underneath and then they could emerge in a bubble in the center of the exhibit.  We watched a 4-D movie Rio and rode the train and the carousel before heading home to jump in the pool again.  Lots of week end fun!

Lily wanted to ride the parrot but had to settle for a manatee!

Wednesday, June 25 ~Gone Fishin'~

Today was a great day!  We all had so much fun.  Started the day with a little fishing.  They weren't biting like usual but we still had an adventurous time.  While I was trying to text a few pics to Trish a fish grabbed my line and I her a "kerplopp!" and as I looked up, there goes my pole out into the depths of Sharon's pond.  A little later we saw the bobber on the other side of the pond so Sharon started casting to try and snag the line to rescue my pole.  Lily had to go to the bathroom and while we were gone Sharon successfully brought in both my pole as well as the 12 inch large mouth bass that was still attached.  Our only fish of the day but what a story!!

Lily is ready to go now!
At one o'clock we met with Danielle, Ramona and the kids for some fun at Galaxy Golf.  We had pizza, played in the gym as well as 9 holes of putt putt.  The kids were wonderful and everyone had a great time.

Lily is ready to go now, again!
When we got home we hit the pool for an hour had supper and then spent some time in the garden planting the cucumber plants that the kids had planted in Bible School.  We topped off the night playing some Pokemon out in the camper.  The plan was to sleep there but it was just too hot so we came back inside and Lily promptly fell asleep and Luke is watching Jessie on the Disney channel.
It's amazing how fast these seeds took off.
Lily was getting after the weeds in the garden!
Here they were picking snap peas.  Luke ate more than he put in the basket.
