Andy and I put this floor down in about 4 hours. Pretty happy with how it came out. |
We have been on a pretty tight schedule since we got back from New Jersey in preparation for our July 4th Picnic/Reunion. Last year we didn't have a picnic and now I can't even remember why. I think we were just getting back from visiting Sara in Hawaii. Yep, pretty sure that was it! I guess I could look back one year and see what our Blog says we were doing. Anyway, as I reflect on things that have been happening, I decided that I wanted to try to get our family together, including Mom and Dad, as we never know how long we will have that opportunity. Mom's sister, Kate, contacted me several days ago to say she was coming. I am really looking forward to seeing her. I don't think I have seen her since my Uncle Earl passed away several years ago. Kate is my mom's youngest and only surviving sister. Andy and I have been busy mowing, trimming fence rows and remodeling our screened patio so that it can be used to keep us cooler and bug free. The pool has been a little stubborn and is clean but still cloudy. I vacuumed this morning so I am hoping that tomorrow when I look at it I will be able to see the bottom. I still need to power wash the fish ponds out front and also the siding and the decks. Windows need washing both inside and out and then I can concentrate on housework which I absolutely hate to do. Give me a weed whacker any day of the week and I would choose that over dusting and mopping floors.
We finished up the patio with the exception of trim boards on Monday. To rest up from that, I went to Cincinnati to watch Evelyn while Matt had an out of state interview. We had a wonderful time and we played and took naps together and I found it pretty relaxing compared to what I had been doing. We went swimming both days and yesterday we went to the Cincinnati Zoo.
Now it is back to work mowing in between raindrops and thunderstorms. We will have the picnic no matter how much work gets finished or doesn't get completed. I've adopted a new slogan while Evelyn and I were hanging out together, "No hurries, no worries"! Not sure how long this will last but it might be fun to try for a while. Have a Great Weekend and a Happy 4th!!

Now this was one really big silverback gorilla! PS...nope, I just checked and Hawaii wasn't until August so I really don't know why I didn't have a 4th of July Picnic last year. Just lazy I guess!! |
