Saturday, March 21-Atlanta

Apologies to readers of my blog for not posting sooner. Upon my return from Alabama we had to make the difficult decision to put our faithful canine companion, Molly, in a better pain-free place. The decision to have her euthanized was one we knew was coming as her brain tumor seemed to be growing more rapidly and her high doses of Phenobarbital we reeking havoc on her body. Although we are saddened by her absence, we know in our hearts that it was the best for her.
My mother has also been moved to a new facility and we are trying to help her to get acclimated to her new environment. Not an easy task for someone who is 91 and suffers from dementia. She appears to like her new room and seems to be trying to make the best of this recent change in address.

I am on the road again and find myself in Atlanta, Georgia for the weekend and my niece's baby shower. Yesterday my sister and I visited The Swan House, a part of the Atlanta History Center. It was of interest to me because parts of the Hunger Games- Catching Fire and Mockingjay parts 1 and 2 were filmed here.  We were pleasantly surprised to find that there was also a working farm from the early 1800s and several trails running throughout the park where the Swan House was located. We spent 2 hours before our Capitol Tour walking and taking pictures of the grounds.

Today was Amy's baby shower. She is due April 26 and is having a little girl. It was so good to see all of Judy's family again.
