Friday, March 7 - Guadalupe Mountains NP

Last night we spent the night in Van Horn, TX at the Knight's Inn. This morning we only had a short drive, an hour, to Guadalupe Mountain NP entrance. We finally found a camp site where our tent would fit and began setting it up. The challenge was not fitting our tent on the pad but fighting the strong winds. I'm thinking the Big Bend winds were just a precursor of what might be tonight. After finally anchoring the tent with rocks and tying it to the surrounding fence we headed out for two hikes. Weather is great, just windy.
