Thursday, July 9 - Waterfalls, waterfalls and more waterfalls

This morning we were up and out early to see the area around Mt. Hood. We had a great breakfast at the Comfort Inn to prepare us for the day. We were on the Scenic Highway through the Columbia Gorge which parallels the Columbia River that separates Oregon and Washington. Our first stop was Chanticleer Point overlook and Crown Point and the Vista House. All day we had spectacular views of the river and many waterfalls along the way.

The day ended at the Timberline Lodge in the shadow of Mt. Hood. We had pizza in the Blue Ox, a pub in the lodge. We are staying in Madras, a town south of Mt. Hood and on our way to Crater Lake. That will be tomorrows post.
