Wednesday, July 8- Flying out to Portland

We arrived at the Columbus airport Wednesday morning to begin our Washington/Oregon adventure with my friends, Barb, Barb and Sharon. We will be attempting to visit 5 National Parks and as many waterfalls as humanly possible in the next 13 days. We also have a whale watching trip reserved and some other visits planned.  Our flight left on time in spite of a computer glitch that diverted many United Air passengers to Southwest. The problems began when we landed in Chicago. We were supposed to stay on our plane and then continue on to Kansas City. Instead we were told to switch planes but it arrived late, we took off about an hour later and we were pretty sure we were not going to get to Kansas City in time to make our connecting flight to Portland. As it worked out, they held our plane 40 minutes for the 7 passengers booked for that connection.

Dinner at Tad's was awesome. The dumplings were huge, we shared and were still stuffed
