It is hard to believe that January is almost gone as is our vacation here in Florida. We have two more full days to get our tan on. And today Betty did just that! She vowed to sit in the sun for at least 4 hours today. I hope someone back home notices. Sharon and I found a great spot to walk and see birds right near our condo called Eagle Lakes Recreational Park. We drove over around 9:30 this morning and much to our delight there was a 60+ co-ed softball game going on. After watching for a short while we both decided that we might just be able to compete in this league. Behind the ball fields was a 2.5 mile paved walking path around 3 lakes. The lake habitat had deep water as well as wetlands and there was a rich variety of water fowl everywhere we looked. I took my binoculars and spotted a few more species to add to my list. Next trip I'll take my good camera and get pictures of some of the many birds that I saw.
