June 15 ~A Day at the Beach~

On our way to New Jersey we stopped by Trish and Chad's.  We arrived late Friday afternoon and then we all headed up to Grammie's funeral on Sunday.  Friday we just hung out at Trish's house and she BBQ some burgers and chicken and we had sweet corn.  The kids had fun in the backyard both playing and arguing about who got to take Evelyn for rides in their car.

Saturday we packed up the truck and headed to the beach at Cape Henlopen near Rehobeth Beach.  Trish has a fishing permit that allows them to drive out onto the beach.  All she has to do is to put a deep sea pole in front of our spot. (ours didn't even have a hook on it).  We spent the day on the beach playing in the surf and enjoying the sea breeze.  The water was still pretty cold but the kids and Matt went in for a little swim.  We all underestimated the sun and came back with too much sun.  We drove into Rehobeth Beach and ate at the Mexican Restaurant on the boardwalk and let the kids ride on some rides at Fun Land.  Andy and Chad spent the day at the barn and I'm sure they enjoyed that more than a day at the beach!

Evelyn's feet never touched the sand!

I tried, once again, to get my picture with all 3 grandkids

Quite honestly.....

I don't think it is humanly possible!

Quack, The Little Bath Duck from the Netherlands spent the day at the beach with us.
He is the Travel Bug that we picked up in Norway and his goal is to travel to warmer waters.  We dropped him off here in Cape Henlopen State Park at the cache we found.

C.J. Ashley and Cody drove down to join us on the beach.

Luke dropping off Quack in the Cape Cache that he found here in the park.
