Colorado/Utah Trip "Chapter 3" July 16

We stayed in the great little town of Moab for 2 nights at the Sleep Inn.  It was the first time that all 5 of us were going to be sharing just one room and we were supposed to have a roll away.  When we arrived we were told that they couldn't find any roll aways.  The young man that was at the desk tried to be so accommodating that he was going to go to his house to bring us a mattress from his trundle bed or his other suggestion was to let us borrow his car and take the hotel credit card to purchase an air mattress.  We opted to use the cushions from the lobby couch and Sharon slept on them in the corner of our room for the first night.  They found a bed for our second night.  The room was the smallest of any of our rooms which made for pretty tight quarters but we managed and can laugh about our experience now.

Our second day in Moab was spent at Canyonlands National Park and Arches National Park.  They are both relatively small and pretty close together so it was pretty easy to see both of them in a day.  Parks #3 and #4.
We began the morning at Arches NP

We had a rather raucous discussion later this evening about the appearance of the I in this photo and several of the other rock structures in the park. (Oh yes, we were bad, very, very bad!)

This is the iconic Delicate Arch

Barb Orr just could not stay away from the papparazzi!

One of my favorites, shaped like a sheep?
A campground, gas station and our lunch stop on the way to Canyonlands NP.  Arches NP in the background.
Canyonlands National Park was mostly a beautiful drive through the park with several stops at pull outs and observation look outs.
The making of our infamous selfies!

I think it was this evening that we ate at the Peace Tree in Moab not last night.
